I-75 And Kings Highway Crash Leaves One Critically Injured
Officials from the Florida Highway Patrol reported an accident in Port Charlotte on Kings Highway near the I-75 interchange.
The crash took place as sixty-nine year old Richard Honaker from Punta Gorda was northbound on Kings Highway approaching the intersection with Interstate 75, driving a Chevy Avalanche SUV.
At the same time sixty-seven year old Cynthia Hollon also from Punta Gorda was waiting in the southbound turn lane at the intersection with I-75 in her Nissan Versa.
As the Chevy Avalanche neared the intersection, Hollon attempted to turn left onto the I-75 on-ramp and drove directly into the path of the oncoming truck.
The two vehicles collided, one driver was in critical condition and the other driver was also hurt in the crash.
