Motorcycle Crash On College Parkway Leaves 3 People Injured In Ft Myers

FORT MYERS FLORIDA – FHP announce on man was in critical condition and two others sustained minor injuries after a crash in Fort Myers Tuesday morning.

The Accident happened as 60 year old David Holdsworth from Silver Springs Maryland and 85 year old passenger Benjamin Holdsworth of Fort Myers Florida were driving northbound in a 2019 Hyundai Tucson on a business access road near 7391 College Parkway approaching a stop sign at the intersection with College Parkway.

At the same time 25 year old Brian Barone of Fort Myers was riding a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle eastbound on College Parkway, in the left lane approaching the intersection with the business access road at a high rate of speed.

At 7:49 am driver Holdsworth proceeded past the stop sign and attempted to turn left onto College Parkway driving directly into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist.

The motorcycle crashed into the left rear fender of the Hyundai SUV with enough force to rotate the vehicle until it was facing south where it came to a stop.

The motorcycle overturned and came to a stop facing west on it’s right side.

Both Driver David Holdsworth and passenger Benjamin Holdsworth sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Motorcyclist Brian Barone is in critical condition at Lee Memorial Hospital.

Barone was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
