Immokalee Woman Killed In Hit And Run Pedestrian Collision
IMMOKALEE FL – Florida Highway Patrol reported one woman was killed after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday night.
The crash took place as 70 year old Gloria Simplice from Immokalee Florida was walking eastbound across the crosswalk at the intersection of Farm Workers’ Way and State Road 29.
At the same time a vehicle was driving north in the northbound lanes approaching the intersection with State Road 29 and Farm Workers Way.
At approximately 8:30 PM the vehicle crashed into Gloria Simplice. After being struck Gloria Simplice came to a rest on the grassy shoulder of the northbound lanes of State Road 29.
After the collision the vehicle fled the scene. Simplice was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS first responders. Witnesses stated that the vehicle may have been an older a silver Mercury Grand Marquis, with a damaged front end.
